The Reasons Why People Smoke
There are numerous different reasons why people begin smoking at first but more often than not it is because of the impression that’s formed in their minds through the aim of the ingenious marketing campaigns of the tobacco companies.
A lot of people begin smoking by obtaining their first cigarettes from older associates or family. Part of why they smoke is to be a part of the group that they admire or friends they aspire to emulate.
It is in relation to image more than anything else as most people would agree that the very first cigarette is certainly not nice. If food tasted that terrible we would surely never chew on it again.
The majority of people find that smoking tastes terrible and makes them feel bad and it is only when they get used to the taste that those feelings disappear. By that stage they aren’t able to give up because of their smoking habit and a new problem shows itself.
Statistics also demonstrate that the majority of those who smoke wished they had never started and if they could wind back time they would certainly never start that habit over again.
It’s simply the addictive nature of tobacco that makes more and more people continue to smoke long after they understand how it is affecting their health and fitness and encroaching on their lifestyle.
All through history the tobacco manufacturers have marketed their brands effectively and the pictures of Hollywood stars and musicians smoking have had an influence on people’s final choice to start smoking.
If anything is seen to be trendy or popular then there will be lots of people who will do it simply to be accepted by their friends.
Fortunately as more and more people see the risks that smoking brings with it to their wellbeing and longevity it’s becoming a more unacceptable custom and not seen as fashionable in many areas of society.
