<p>For a lot of people some of the benefits are obvious. The house and the clothes will smell better, and if you have smoked in your car, it will also be nicer to drive in. But it is probably not the main reasons why to stop smoking. Issues like money and health has much more to say than a minor issue like the smell of the cigarettes.</p>
<p>You can save a lot of money if you quit the cigarettes. On pack a day can easily save you $35 a week, $150 a month and $1,825 a year. So if you really want to save some money, be honest and calculate how much it cost you to smoke the number of cigarettes, you are smoking today.</p>
<p>While the money is obviously nice to save, there are huge benefits to your health as well. For example, research tells us that as little as 20 minutes after you stop smoking you will be able to see a difference in your health.</p>
<p>If you stop smoking you can improve your health by reducing the risk of breathing complications, lung cancer, high blood pressure, heart problems and stroke. Research has shown that only a short period after the last cigarette many of the harmful effects that smoking has caused will start to reverse; even if you are a long time smoker.</p>
<p>An example is that just 5 years after the last cigarette the risk of a stroke will be the same as for someone who has been a non-smoker for their entire life. In contrast the risk if you continue to smoke is at least the double.</p>
<p>Additionally, if you quit for 15 years, you can enjoy the same risk of coronary heart disease as a non-smoker as well. Taking these small victories for your health is important since you will be able to significantly improve your quality of life</p>
<p>Quit smoking gives you a lot of benefits; both when it comes to money and health. And if you stop today, both your health and your economy will be better tomorrow.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Pubs, bars and clubs, not just around the country, but around the world, have taken a huge hit in sales and a decline in custom due to the smoking ban that has been rolled out by various world governments. In the United Kingdom the smoking ban came into use in July of 2007, and since then there have been sharp changes to the way pubs, bars and clubs must treat smokers.</p>
<p>At first there were a lot of weird and wonderful ideas to try and cheat the smoking ban, most were met with a heavy hand from the government, as lots of angry complaints were made by new found publicans who now enjoy the smoke-free environment. There were landlords trying to turn their pubs into official &#8216;testing&#8217; areas for tobacco, rather than drinking establishments. This meant that they were able to sell alcohol in one area of the pub, and allow smoking in another area of the pub, so long as they got a signature from the smoker. The medical facility ploy caught on in a few different pubs, bars and clubs around the country, but did not last long before it was shut down by the local councils.</p>
<p>A landlord from Sutton Coldfield, which is just outside Birmingham in the United Kingdom has managed to get around the smoking ban entirely, and isn&#8217;t met with any opposition from local councils or the other no-smoking publicans that not frequent his now very popular pub. Chris Giles, the landlord in question, has begun selling electronic cigarettes. The <a target='_blank' href="http://www.smartsmokerusa.com">electronic cigarette</a> is a small device that looks very similar to a real cigarette. The device works by converting a small amount of nicotine into a vapor by mixing it with some water in what is called an atomizer. The electronic cigarette device then delivers the vapor into the users mouth for them to inhale. Unlike traditional cigarettes the electronic cigarette does not contain damaging substances like carbon monoxide or tar, making it a much more healthy alternative.</p>
<p>With the electronic cigarette satisfying the cravings of the users by giving the all important nicotine hit, aswell as satisfying the not so obvious cravings, like the feeling of a cigarette in the persons hand, it&#8217;s easy to see why they have taken off so well. The electronic cigarette&#8217;s end also lights up when the user takes a pull on it, this adds confidence to the user as it gives more weight to the illusion of real smoking, making the user feel more comfortable using it in a public place.</p>
<p>Mr Giles of the Butler Arms in Birmingham, UK has really capitalized on the electronic cigarette. The Butlers Arms started selling the electronic cigarettes on one weekend after seeing them in a trade magazine. Mr Giles was astounded that every pub hadn&#8217;t bought them in all ready.</p>
<p>Mr Giles said: &#8220;When it&#8217;s freezing outside and chucking it down with rain it&#8217;s a good alternative to going outside for a cigarette</p>
<p>&#8220;We built a smoking shelter, but it&#8217;s just not the same for smokers who have been marginalised by the ban.</p>
<p>&#8220;While we are completely supportive of the smoking ban we are still very conscious of the needs of our smoking customers.</p>
<p>&#8220;We are in autumn now and winter is not very far away, so these e-cigs have come at the right time.&#8221;</p>
<p>Not only is the pub selling the e-cigs regularly to publicans in the pub, but they&#8217;re getting regular calls throughout the day asking whether they are stocking cartridges for the devices. It is believed that the devices are so popular because not only are they much healthier, but they also hold much more value for money. The average packet of cigarettes in the UK (at time of writing) is around 7 for 20. The equivalent of this as an electronic cigarette cartridge is around 0.40. You can see how the savings would soon mount up over a period of time with a 280% saving on every packet bought.</p>
<p>Users can choose from different strength and flavoured cartridges. The cartridges come in varied strengths from no nicotine, low, medium up to high nicotine. Users can also get various flavours including tobacco (various brands), strawberry, mint, menthol and cherry.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Smokers have more fun. This is a common accepted fact, which recently have been busted as a myth by British scientists. More than 70% of the 879 ex-smokers who were interviewed in the survey, answered that they were happier as ex-smokers.</p>
<p>879 ex-smokers were interviewed, and almost 70% responded that they were happier after they had quit smoking, 26% answered that their mood was unchanged and less than 4% answered that they were less happier than before.</p>
<p>The results of the study fits with my experience: It is hard to find ex-smokers who regretted that they stopped. It is rather easy to find smokers who regretted that they started in the first place.</p>
<p>Quitting smoking might prolong your life, but loss of life quality is inevitable &#8211; at least this is a common myth. Rather, ex-smokers actually can have the cake AND eat it too: quitting smoking boosts self confidence and mental energy, and the ex-smokers receives widespread recognition for their achievement. Ex-smokers are on the winning team.</p>
<p><b>Focus on life quality rather than health</b></p>
<p>When trying to motivate people to quit smoking, focusing on the health benefits is far more efficient that pointing fingers and trying to scare people to quit.</p>
<p>Instead, we are developing new methods in which we don&#8217;t to focus on diseases and health, but rather on the improved life quality, which freedom from smoke brings. The methods were developed from experiments with advice on smoking cessation for cancer patients. They were excited, partly because they felt that with a smoking cessation they themselves made a difference. Rather than being part of the problem, they were now part of the solution instead.</p>
<p><b>Better in time</b></p>
<p>The increased satisfaction is more pronounced, the longer the time that has passed since they stopped smoking. But even with ex-smokers, where the smoking stop was quite new, it was still the majority who feel happier now. Younger ex-smokers was more excited after their cessation than older people. However it did not matter whether they were heavy smokers or only smoked a few cigarettes a day.</p>

<p>At the risk of being labeled melodramatic, the facts are overwhelming about the <strong>health risks of</strong> smoking.</p>
<p>Smoking is the primary source of preventable death in the country and is the biggest source of disease and death in the majority of western countries.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s the leading cause of many types of cancer and also <strong>cardiovascular disease and stroke</strong>.</p>
<p>Virtually every single organ in the body is harmed by smoking and this is due to the thousands of chemicals (yes that is thousands) that are common in tobacco smoke.</p>
<p>Many of those chemicals are said to result in cancer and many additional health problems are caused or made even worse <strong>as a result of smoking</strong>.</p>
<p>Illnesses that relate to breathing such as emphysema and bronchitis are caused or made worse by smoking.</p>
<p>Emphysema is where the cigarette smoke leads to the air sacs inside the lungs being destroyed and this makes it tough for the oxygen to get transported to the bloodstream. Obviously having a reduction in the circulation of oxygen all through the body, it will decline at a higher rate.</p>
<p>Along with this damage to the air sacs within the lungs, the airways can become inflamed from cigarette smoke leading to chronic bronchitis.</p>
<p>When the combination of these two illnesses strike a person it can be an extremely unpleasant situation where the <strong>lack of breath</strong> gets increasingly difficult and ultimately results in untimely death.</p>
<p>Smoking also increases the condition of <strong>high blood pressure</strong> (hypertension) and along with that smokers are at increased risk of having a <strong>heart attack</strong> than those people who do not smoke.</p>
<p>The deterioration of the ability to breathe freely prevents smokers from participating in physical activities at higher levels and ultimately this decrease in the ability to exercise ends in <strong>poor health</strong> and for many people the sedentary life that they will frequently lead results in many more associated medical problems.</p>
<p>Every day of smoking is one more step in the wrong direction where many parts of the body particularly the major organs are subjected to real danger which will <strong>ultimately cause death</strong>.</p>
