Some of the best selling items for smokers in recent years have been stop smoking products such as nicotine gums and patches. A doctor’s prescription was originally required to use the smoking cessation product but eventually over-the-counter sales were approved as there were no serious side effects when the products were used as directed.

When trying a new product it is wise to ask about the potential risks that may be encountered. When it comes to health, e-cigarette producers will honestly tell you the scientific studies have not been completed for this new product. However, they will also tell you that inhaling a vapor mist is not comparable to the health risks of inhaling tobacco smoke.

The FDA issued vague warnings about the benefit of electronic cigarettes as it bowed to pressure of highly paid tobacco lobbyists. Such misinformation has led consumers to question the benefit of e-cigarettes but that cloud of suspicion is gone once buyers learn the truth. Many myths about electronic smoking products are spread by big tobacco and big pharma in an attempt to damage or ban what they now know is a competing product in the U.S. market.

Electronic cigarettes work by virtue of a sensor in the mouthpiece, which releases a vaporized nicotine solution when it detects air flow i.e. when you put it in your mouth and inhale. As the nicotine solution is released, an LED light on the end of the device lights up with an orange-red glow, giving it the look of a real cigarette. As you are not actually inhaling any smoke, they are much better for you than normal cigarettes.
